Trip to London

I really enjoyed today's trip to London except from my soar feet and shoulders. I found really interesting pieces of work from the New Design exhibition that I went to this morning. I also went to Soho for some fabric shopping and research as I said from my previous post. I got loads of fabric swatches from all the fabric shop that I went to for free so I save some money from that. I will posts all the images that I took from the exhibition and the frabric shops that I went to on my next post.

London trip

I AM really excited because tomorrow I am going to London for the day.!!! I will be visiting an exhibit and SOHO for fabric shopping and research ready for next year. I know this is a really short post but I will update you tomorrow on what's happening and where did I go.. Thanks for reading I'll talk to you all soon xoxo :D

Bishop sleeve shirt

As seen from one of my previous post, you have seen the shirt that I have made with bishop sleeve well today I had a chance to get that shirt photographed on my model for my portfolio. I really liked how it turned out and I am super excited to get this printed for my portfolio next year.

My first styling workshop

Today was my first styling workshop. My session probably took 1-2 hour because I have to do my models hair and make-up by myself. I really enjoyed doing the styling workshop because I got to work with Jemma Sawyer, a professional stylist, Charlotte Green, my model and photography student name Lizzy Kirkman. From the shoot I have manage to get some copy of the photos that Lizzy has taken (unedited). I am really pleased with the outcome and how the photos look.

For the hair and make-up, I kept it simple by having Charlotte's hair in a bun and her make-up not too dark. Here are a few photos that was taken from the shoot, it isn't edited by the way. I will post the edited photos as soon as I receive them from the photographer.

Summer must-have 2011

This is my top 6 must-have clothing this summer base on what I would wear or other people would wear when going out on the beach or shopping with my friends. 1. you should have swimsuit or bikini for the beach with your sun cream. 2. you should have a floral dress or a maxi dress for the nice and sunny weather. 3. sunglasses; you should have a pair of sunglasses with you when you go out in the sun shopping or on the beach bathing. 4. shorts; nothing is complete without a pair of shorts, personally I really like high waisted shorts so choose whatever you prefer. 5. if you don't like wearing dresses then just pop on your playsuit or jumpsuit. And lastly your sandals or flip flops. For accessories add an oversize handbag, hat or some necklace and bracelets.

Cake anyone??

Today my fellow student Emily brought in cake for the tutors. The cake looked really cool because it has the photos of all our dress on the icing. The tutors had decided to share the cake with everyone but most of the students was not in so we are having it tomorrow for breakfast YUM :) Here is what the cake looks like.

June 24 2011 Fashion Show

On friday June 24th was the last and final day of the fashion show. I am happy and sad at the same time because finally it is over. No more stress about the dress and sewing.

The venue looks different from the previous night because the audience are sited around the table with drinks and snacks.

From having this experience I have learnt that stressing about everything wont solve everything, you just have to be calm and be positive about it.

I have actually took a quick snap backstage with some of the models. Here it is, don't they look amazing?

Design board

Today I have made my design board for this current unit that I am working at. Here is what my design board looks like but I cannot decide whether to have white or black background.

Project Runway Mid-Cheshire College

On June 23rd 2011 I had the most exciting day ever. It was the first day of the fashion show and I can not believe it was happening.
